General Dentistry Services

Preventative Dental Care

Your initial oral examination includes a visual exam, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays to diagnose and detect any possible cavities or underlying issues. After this appointment, we recommend routine dental cleanings with our dental hygienists to ensure optimal oral health.

Periodontal Care

We love healthy gums! To prevent periodontal disease in the gum tissue, trust McMillen Dental and our routine periodontal maintenance. We recommend preventative periodontal treatment because it allows our team to treat infections in the early stages, thus saving you discomfort and money!

Wisdom Teeth Extraction

With the x-rays our team takes at your initial exam, we’ll find out if your wisdom teeth impact your dental health. Wisdom teeth removal decreases the risk of oral disease and inflammation, prevents damage to nearby teeth, and prevents cysts, tumors, or jaw damage.

Dr. Jensen is a dentist that comes to our office and offers conscious sedation, wisdom teeth removal, as well as implant placement. Contact our office if you have any questions about the wisdom teeth removal process.

Sealants

Sealants protect your teeth! It primarily protects the grooves of the teeth from food particles. We recommend sealants for our child patients as it prevents tooth decay. We strive to help our patients maintain optimal oral health and sealants are one of the best ways to do so because it lasts for several years before a reapplication is needed!

Mouth Guards

Is your jaw constantly sore? Do you notice you’re grinding your teeth at night? Allow McMillen Dental to help! We create custom mouth guards fitted to your teeth so that grinding comes to a halt. TMJ and jaw issues could be a worry of the past with our team of dental professionals.

Scaling & Root Planing

If plaque and tartar are left untreated, it provides the perfect environment for bacteria to grow. The bacteria irritate the gums, which can lead to periodontal disease and unhealthy gums. Avoid gingivitis and let our dentists and dental hygienists clean your teeth by scaling and polishing them.

Emergency Care

A knocked-out tooth or bitten tongue can cause panic in any parent. Still, quick thinking and staying calm are the best ways to approach such common dental emergencies and prevent additional unnecessary damage and costly dental restoration. This includes taking measures such as the application of cold compresses to reduce swelling, and of course, contacting our office as soon as possible.

Family Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

We understand that visiting the dentist may have been traumatic and cause anxiety to bubble up. McMillen Dental provides a calm, family-friendly environment and sedation options for you and your family. Dr. Jensen is a dentist that visits our office and offers conscious sedation services, wisdom teeth removal, and implant placement.

Children & Dental Care

Setting up your children for dental care success early on is beneficial not only for their developing teeth but also for their eventual adult teeth. Our office recommends that infants see the dentist after the first six months of age and at least by the child’s first birthday. Conditions like gum irritation, thumb-sucking, and “baby bottle tooth decay” can be diagnosed quickly and treated appropriately to ensure your child has the healthiest teeth possible!

We have a large children’s room with an electric train mounted around the room with hand-painted landscapes and other scenery for your child’s enjoyment. In addition, our shelves are stacked with books and stuffed animals. McMillen Dental does everything possible to make your child feel comfortable and relaxed when visiting.

Women & Dental Care

Women have special needs when it comes to their oral health due to the physical changes they undergo through life — menstruation, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and menopause — that cause many changes in the body, some harmful to teeth and gums. Lesions, ulcers, dry sockets, and swollen gums can sometimes occur during surges in women’s hormone levels.

As a women-led practice, McMillen Dental believes that proper oral health care is essential and can go a long way in helping face the physical changes in your body over the years.

Seniors & Their Oral Health

Are dentures a guarantee in old age? No, many people are avoiding the need for dentures as they grow older through being diligent and practicing good oral hygiene. McMillen Dental highly recommends routine dental cleanings for seniors and to contact our team for any dental emergencies.

We understand that those who have arthritis or other dexterity problems may find it difficult and painful to practice good oral hygiene. Thankfully, the industry has responded with ergonomically designed devices to alleviate pain during this task. Ask our team about their recommendations for toothbrushes and floss holders to make brushing your teeth easier.
